Job Description

Employment Law Solicitor 3yrs+ PQE £42K

Our Client's Employment Team advises public and private sector employers on human resource issues from daily personnel matters, including disciplinary and grievance issues, to strategic management issues such as redundancy programmes, industrial action, and wrongful dismissal claims. As part of their service, the team provides management training and consultative advice tailored to the client's specific needs. Many of their employment lawyers are experienced tribunal advocates; between them they handle over 400 tribunal cases per year. The team has a strong track record in providing employment advice to public health sector clients Private sector clients include many blue chip companies.

Core Responsibilities

Within this varied role you will undertake a varied workload of employment matters including both commercial and health work on behalf of private and public sector clients. Progress client matters with an appropriate level of supervision from more experienced fee-earners. Maintain an awareness of the appropriate limits of own competence/authority.

You will take part in and initiate marketing / network activities in order to maintain and develop work from existing clients and potential clients. As well as Maintaining and developing technical knowledge through attendance at training sessions, reading appropriate publications and exceeding Law Society CPD requirements.

You will support the effective running of the team by contributing to team meetings, providing support for colleagues where appropriate and progressing matters in colleagues' absence

As well as development of team clients and candidate's own contacts.

Key Skills

Ideally you will be of 3 years plus qualification with experience of tribunal work, equal pay work is desirable and contentious and non contentious matters.

As an Independent thinker with a focus on generating commercial solutions to problems on behalf of clients you will also be a confident communicator with an ability to develop relationships, undertake client marketing and influence at all levels.

You will be an enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach and considerable opportunity for growth in the future in line with ambitious team growth.
