Employment Solicitor / Corporate Support London City
Our client is a city law firm dedicated to serving businesses with interests in intellectual property and technology in industry sectors including pharmaceuticals, electronics, IT and telecommunications, consumer products, media and entertainment.
They currently have an opportunity for a NQ-5yr Solicitor to join their employment team
The team provides advice and support on all aspects of employment law, both contentious and non-contentious. In addition, they work closely with the Corporate and IP/IT teams in relation to the acquisition and disposal of businesses, outsourcing and data protection issues.
The team is made up of a Partner, 2 dedicated employment Associates and 1 Trainee and support from specialists in tax/employee benefits.
This is a new role as a junior associate and would suit someone making their first job move after qualification. It will involve the following:
"Handling wide-ranging own caseload, (with appropriate level of supervision) including advisory and contentious.
"Providing employment advice alongside our corporate lawyers on business and share acquisitions, both for buying and selling entities, and giving regular advice to corporate clients on the effects and implications of TUPE.
"Negotiating the employment aspects of outsourcing transactions (primarily IT services).
"Business development and marketing, including writing articles and speaking at seminars (professional skills training is available).
The ideal candidate will come from a strong academic background with at least 1 year's practical experience of employment law including a grounding in corporate support work and TUPE application
