EMPLOYMENT PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT LAWYER - LONDON CITY

Purpose of the role:
To support the business needs of the practice group and to assist with the implementation of the firm and group's knowledge management strategy.
The PSL will focus on core professional support activities, which will include:
·Creating and updating precedents and checklists
·Encouraging and coordinating the contribution of know-how
·Analysing and disseminating know-how internally e.g. through the intranet, e-mail, bulletins, team meetings, training seminars etc
·Ensuring that know-how is stored appropriately and is searchable and retrievable on the firm's know-how systems
·Preparing a monthly legal update for fee earners and delivering across the offices
·Designing and delivering or arranging the delivery of legal training
·Organising induction training for trainees joining the group
·Liaising with the Learning and Development team as appropriate in relation to skills training
·Providing internal consultancy on technical and practical issues
·Drafting and editing client bulletins
·Assisting in the design and production of employment content for the firm's website and intranet facilities
·Working with Louise Donaldson to manage the library and training budgets
·Liaising with other PSLs within the firm and attending meetings of the PSL group.
Person Specification
Qualifications/experience
Qualified solicitor with excellent knowledge of employment law and, in particular, TUPE and public sector outsourcing.
Recent experience working as a fee earner or as a PSL in an employment team.
Key Skills
Excellent drafting and writing skills
Strong communication skills with all levels of staff
Project management and prioritisational skills
Pro active approach to identification of work to be done
Personal qualities/ behaviours
Ability to meet the needs of fee earners and partners spread across a variety of different offices in the UK
Ability to work as part of the firm-wide and employment PSL team and to supervise the work of the employment PSL paralegal.
