A Solicitor or Legal Executive with at least 3 years post qualification experience in employment law is sought to join the in-house legal team.
Under the direction of, and in conjunction with, the Head of HR & Legal you will provide employment law advice and assistance to member companies/clients. Duties will include:
- Providing comprehensive and timely advice and assistance to member companies/clients on all matters pertaining to employment law and employee relations either by visits, telephone or in writing.
- Representing members/clients in litigation concerning employment, i.e. Before Employment Tribunals, EAT and, where appropriate, County Court.
- Drafting or scrutinizing contracts of employment, policies, procedures and other employment related documents.
- Assisting in the training and development of other staff in respect of employment law issues.
- Preparing and presenting lectures/talks on employment law and employee relations issues to member companies/clients in seminars and on other occasions.
The successful candidate must have:
- At least 3 years PQE in employment law
- Detailed knowledge of employment law and employee relations issues
- ET preparation/knowledge of ET rules
- Experience of drafting employment documentation
- Good client relationship skills
It would be desirable to have:
- Good training presentational skills
- ET advocacy
- Handling collective consultation issues with Trade Unions and others
