Our client in Bristol is a brilliant firm to work for they have a team culture of support and friendliness and are committed to the growth and development of the careers of all the staff.
They are currently seeking a Legal Assistant in their Employment department who will deal with the following:
File opening and entering mew debts;
Corresponding with debtor, court, client and any agents regarding a case once it has become defended;
Drafting all necessary court forms;
Preparing for trial, including trial bundles and briefing client and counsel;
Preparing for interim hearings and representing the client where necessary;
Entering into negotiations and alternative dispute resolution, taking into account the overriding objective;
Assisting in the supervision of the team by checking post, claim forms, bills and offering assistance and advice to all members of the team;
Ensuring the team is manned at all times from 8am to 6pm.
Candidates must have a degree in Law/CPE and some debt recovery and/or CPR experience is preferred. Case handling experience is essential and you must be a good team player.
You will be running a case load of fast track and multi track cases including drafting court documents, negotiating and mediating. You would also be assisting the supervising solicitor on complex multi track and off-scheme cases.
