This is a vital and important role responsible for developing, maintaining and administering the Firms' intranet as well as being key to the Firms' Sharepoint strategy, pivotal in every Sharepoint project in flight or delivered to date. The roleholder effectively bridges the onshore and offshore development teams and acts as an ambassador to teams wishing to implement and innovate using Sharepoint technology. You would be responsible for: the design and Development of SharePoint Solutions, ensuring that those solutions adhere to best practices. the writing/reviewing of SharePoint solution designs and proposals. defining Sharepoint Coding Standards, Writing release documents and Code Reviewing peers. working to develop the firm's SharePoint strategy, governance policies with a view to ensuring the platform is stable and delivers good performance. working closely with our internal customers and our 3rd line teams to ensure that applications are released and tested thoroughly. developing the wider team to help increase the knowledge of SharePoint development. delivering robust solutions quickly, in order to deliver innovative solutions to problems. working alongside 3rd parties such as our search providers as well as various development teams to direct and influence their development activities. understanding and addressing SharePoint Performance limitations. Please note that Eversheds currently uses Sharepoint 2007. We would expect you to have the following skills and experience: 3 years experience of SharePoint and the knowledge of the following technologies: C#, (web address removed) , ASP.NET 2.0 4.0, WSP, WWF, TSQL, NET Master Pages and Page Layouts. experience of working with SharePoint Site Definitions, List Definitions, Web Part Development, SSP Configuration, Excel Services, InfoPath, BDC, STSADM, Features, Event Handlers, Content Types Configuration, Taxonomy Design. knowledge of working with Multi server Farms and experience of working with VS2005, VS2008, 2010, TFS, VMWare, SQL Server 2000, 2005. the ability to building and configure a SharePoint Farm and managing SharePobnt Central Administration. MCTS certification for WSS3.0 and MOSS development is preferable but not essential. For you to be successful in this role we would expect you to have the follow key skills and comptencies including: the ability to develop team members and to work with internal and external customers. the ability to have conversations with customers and push back where appropriate. the ability to work alone or in teams as projects demand, having good time management skills and to be a self learner.
