Job Description

To use the most effective legal means to recover the debts and/or property of clients via personal caseload and supervision of team members.

Role;

Conducting pre-legal case work
Accepting instructions from client and agreeing process
Telephone chasing and chasing by letter as agreed with client
Telephone negotiations with Debtor
Ensuring the case progresses through the case management system as appropriate for pre-legal work
Negotiating and reviewing payments where promised by debtors; reviewing instalment plans ensuring these are maintained

Issuing Proceedings
Advising client re claim including entitlement to interest and costs
Liaising with client for paperwork to support claim
Issuing County Court proceedings for recovery of unpaid invoices, overpaid salary, repossession of property
Entering judgement in default
Receiving defence and counter-claims, assessing prospects and advising clients, as appropriate
Dealing with various applications to court as and when required
Preparing and advising on interlocutory applications for example, summary judgement, setting aside judgement
Making applications to the Court in respect of setting aside Judgement
Making application to the Court for summary Judgement

Enforcement
Advising client on most appropriate method and processing any of the following options:-
Information Orders
Warrants of Execution
Writs of Fi Fa
Attachment of Earnings
Charging Orders
Statutory Demands
Overseas enforcement

Advocacy
Preparing for and appearing at chambers appointments and conducting telephone appointments before District Judge on for example:-
Final Charging Order hearings
Return of Goods proceedings
Applications to set Judgement aside
Summary Judgement applications
Mortgage repossessions

Client work
Assisting with training seminars on behalf of the firm for clients (preparation and presentation)
Conducting client review meetings to ensure service level agreements are being met.
Attending marketing events as and when required on behalf of the firm

Supervision
Reviewing incoming and outgoing post
Allocating Workload
Training and Development
Performance Appraisals

Recovery of fees and accommodation costs for educational institutions
Proceedings for payment for professional services
Proceedings for overpayment of salaries
Recovery of outstanding invoices for goods sold and delivered
Collection of rent arrears
