LOCUM LEGAL EXECUTIVE - DEBT RECOVERY - CAMBRIDGESHIRE
Utility Company seeks locum Debt Recovery legal executive for immediate start. The position is initially for six months with the possibility of monthly extensions up to 12 months.
Person
1.Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executive (FILEX) will consider as a minimum a Member with at least 1 years pqe.
2.Debt Recovery specialist with experience across all Court tracks.
3.A confident advocate with recent advocacy experience.
4.Familiar and confident with high volume debt recovery work through the County Court Bulk Centre.
5.Utility debt recovery experience desirable.
6.IT literate and confident in using MS Word, Excel, Access & Outlook.
7.Full clean driving licence and access to vehicle.
Role
1.Consider and prioritise for action all Defences received to issued claims and progress through to judgment.
2.Complete Court documentation as required.
3.Prepare witness statements and exhibits to progress claims.
4.Decide which hearings to attend and which can be done through written submission.
5.Attend Court and advocate on behalf of the firm at any County Court in the Anglian region.
6.Consideration of judgement set aside applications and subsequent attendance at hearing.
7.Consideration of appeal applications and subsequent attendance at hearing.
8.Potential for involvement in general enforcement of judgments, charging orders and orders for sale in particular.
9.Other support to the litigation team within the Legal Department as required.
