Are you a paralegal or legal assistant who would wish to develop your career with a large national law firm of over 250 employees? The prestigious Birmingham office of this highly reputable firm is currently seeking 2 individuals to facilitate the expansion of its Dispute Resolution Team.
The role is working specifically with the debt recovery team, which acts for a broad range of clients, from small businesses to major corporations on a national and international basis. It also enjoys excellent relationships with leading accountancy firms and acts for them in the recovery of book debts owed to struggling and insolvent businesses. The firm also has important clients in the education, energy and utilities fields, as well as the the manufacturing sector and has vast experience of recovering outstanding debt in these areas.
The majority of your time will be spent undertaking a mixture of both contested and uncontested debt recovery as well as working on insolvency proceedings. Knowledge of debt recovery IT packages is favourable, but by no means essential.
You will develop your skills in handling a caseload, as well as using your people skills to deal with clients, debtors and and third parties who are involved in the debt recovery process. You will also enhance your written communication skills as you are expected to produce written correspondence and draft court documents. Additionally, you will receive first-class training and development, whilst being encouraged to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision.
