Job Description

A rare expansion opportunity has arisen with this top regulatory team to develop a new department in the Liverpool office.

They deal with all types of investigations including those involving tax and accounting irregularities, corruption, bribery, fraud, cartels, price fixing and referrals from Audit Committees as well as dealing with raids, search and seizure, extradition and cross-border arrest warrants.

They advise on the powers of all the main Regulators and how to deal with allegations raised and prosecutions commenced by them. They also lead the market in crisis prevention and risk management.

The Liverpool office does nor currently have a team dealing with this area and they now seek a solicitor with at least 4 years' relevant experience gained with a recognised corporate defence practice, a regulatory authority or an in-house legal department, to help establish and then run a local team.

There is already a certain amount of work to pick up, which is currently being handled by teams in other offices, but as well as being technically able, the ideal candidate will need some good contacts in this area in order to develop the team. It goes without saying that there will be plenty of support in this role.

This is an excellent opportunity for an associate who is a number two or three in a department to take a lead role and carve a niche for themselves which should provide a clear route to partnership in the medium term.
