Legal Secretary Corporate Manchester up to £22k
Our client has a broad-based corporate practice, advising a wide corporate and institutional client base. Its main areas of focus in the UK and internationally are mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, corporate organisations, private equity transactions and joint ventures. With over 200 specialist lawyers, including over 80 partners, our client is a significant force. The finance group provides a comprehensive range of legal services for financial institutions and corporate borrowers. The group's banking team provides clients with specialist knowledge and transactional support wherever and whenever they need it, working closely with the firms' financial services and real estate finance teams.
Interested? They are looking for a legal secretary to provide secretarial and administrative support for a Partner, Associate and Solicitor.
Day to day duties will include copy and audio typing, amending sometimes lengthy documentation, file opening and maintenance, archiving, diary and email management, liaising with secretaries/PAs of important clients, arranging meetings and lunches and occasional marketing events. Other administrative tasks/opportunities can be incorporated as the candidate develops in the role.
The role will involve client contact, working closely with other secretaries in the team and assisting other team members during busy periods. Additional support may be required on project completions.
A minimum typing speed of 80 wpm with high level of accuracy is prerequisite. Ideally candidates will have sound knowledge of PC applications such as Outlook, XP, Deltaview, PowerPoint, Excel and digital dictation. Previous legal experience is essential. Experience of working within a banking/corporate environment will advantageous.
Candidates will possess good time management and communication skills and be a good team player.
The ideal candidate would be someone who wants to work as part of a large busy team, is able to adapt well to frequently changing priorities and manage multiple tasks successfully when working under pressure whilst maintaining quality. They should also be proactively supportive of others during busy periods. Good communication skills and a committed, flexible approach to delivering a high quality service to internal and external clients are key.
