Corporate Legal Secretary required starting immediately for 9/12 month maternity cover with a Manchester Law Firm. Salary to £19k per Annam.

Our Client is a niche commercial legal practise that has been dealing with the requirements of both business clients and individuals for over 35 years.

The Role will involve:

Dealing with incoming post on a daily basis
Arranging appointments
Keeping the partner up to date with his appointments
Ensuring files are kept up to date

Corporate
Sale/purchase of companies, shareholdings, share schemes
Preparing bundles of corporate documentation including due diligence and bank documentation
Amending documents
Liaising with all parties
Liaising with the partner and ensuring files are in good working order at all times
Assisting in all conveyancing aspects including registration, payment of stamp duty, indemnity policies etc
Completing all necessary searches
Accounting to client including preparation of completion statements and summary of costs

Complaints
Ensuring all complaint files are kept up to date
Liaising with professional indemnity insurers where necessary

Bridging/Secured Lending
Dealing with and only referring to the partner where a query/problem may rise
Receiving instructions from client
Liaising with and preparing documentation and sending to other Side
Arranging completion dates
Ensuring all documentation is received from other side and that it is correct and in order
Requesting funds from client
Transferring funds to other side
Receiving return of funds and fees from other side
Accounting to client including bill and statement of account
In addition, ensuring the ledger account is always up to date
Reporting to client with any interest which may have accrued and providing payment

Candidates must have previous experience of working within corporate law.
