TAX SOLICITOR (CORPORATE & PRIVATE CLIENT) - BRISTOL
Leading South West firm seeks Tax Solicitor 4 + PQE to deal with both corporate and private client tax issues.The position comprises a genuine 50/50 mix of corporate and personal taxes, typically advising owner-managers, entrepreneurs, financial institutions and others on the intersection between these two types of tax. Equal experience of both types of tax is ideal, but we anticipate that most candidates will have a preponderance towards one or the other.
Work The firm's "formidably talented" Tax and Trusts department is one of the largest in the country (currently comprising 8 partners and 27 fee-earners), demonstrating a national and international profile to rival the best. Ranked in the 'top-tier' category by both The Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession and The Legal 500, the team not only offers "London quality in Bristol" but has been seen to surpass quality in the capital altogether.
Lawyers advise on a wide range of areas, including corporate tax, offshore tax planning and tax and estate planning.
The Corporate Tax Unit comprises 7 tax lawyers (all of whom are qualified solicitors and 5 of whom are also Chartered Tax Advisors the remaining 2 are studying for the qualification). More than half of the unit's work is standalone but the unit also plays an integral supporting role in a wide range of transactions.
Requirements
Look for excellent academics acquired at a top university, together with evidence of good quality training and relevant experience gained within a firm well regarded for Private Client and Corporate Tax work.
The successful candidate will display flexibility, willingness to undertake new areas of practice, and will have an enthusiasm to develop specialisms within the wider Tax & Trusts environment.
Existing CTA qualification would be an advantage but is not vital (although the firm would generally expect a willingness to take the CTA exams if so required and would provide full support)
