Excellent opportunity with Manchester. Applications are invited from strong HR Managers with a CIPD qualification.
To manage the provision of an effective on-site HR service in the Manchester office which is both pro-active and responsive to the needs of the Partners and employees on-site.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
To manage all HR related issues and queries in the Manchester office, ensuring fair and consistent treatment and advice is given at all times.
To provide advice and guidance in the areas of employment law and employee relations issues ensuring that the Manchester Partners and Managers receive a high level of advice and service.
To co-ordinate the recruitment of lawyers for the Manchester office and supervising the HR Assistant in the recruitment of secretarial and support staff. This will include liaison with partners and managers regarding the job specification, reviewing CV’s from the online recruitment portal, liaising with recruitment agents and headhunters, screening candidates and selection interviewing.
To work with and respond to HR related issues at the office Focus Group meetings.
To carry out induction training, ensuring that the presentation on the background to the firm is personalised for the Manchester office.
To work with the HR teams at other locations on a broad range of HR issues and projects.
To assist the HR Assistant in analysing and writing management summaries for the local distribution of weekly, monthly and quarterly HR management information.
To manage a team of 2 evening secretaries, and co-ordinate secretarial resource across the Manchester office.
Provide HR account management support to one of the firm’s four international departments. Working with the International Department Head and the department’s leadership group to ensure the development and delivery of its HR strategic plans.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Educated to degree level
CIPD qualified, ideally with 2 or more post qualification experience in a professional services environment or with the ability to work in this environment.
