CONSTRUCTION SOLICITOR
My client, a leading law firm providing a full range of services to a well-established national and international client base, are looking to recruit a non-contentious construction lawyer at about the 2-4 years PQE level. The firm see significant growth plans for this area of the business, so there will be plenty of opportunity to develop your career as a non-contentious construction lawyer. Youll work alongside the talented teams they have in Property and Property related finance. This role will offer excellent career progression for the right candidate and would especially suit an individual who is prepared to be to be visible and to take on responsibility from an early stage, dealing proactively with matters. You will have knowledge and experience of primarily non-contentious construction legal work, Contentious experience would also be very helpful, though not essential. The high quality caseload involves the following aspects: · Provision of non-contentious construction advice and support to both external and internal clients · Negotiation of standard form and bespoke construction contracts · Drafting bespoke agreements for real estate development projects · Advising in relation to warranties and bonds · Provision of construction advice and support to property finance transactions · Opportunities to help develop further business for the team Person Spec · Strong technical skills including very sound drafting ability · Experience should either have been gained in a UK private practice and/or as an in-house lawyer in a UK construction company · It is essential that candidates have knowledge of construction procurement and large scale project set-up. This role will not involve work on PFI or PPP projects · Thorough understanding of contract law and familiarity with JCT forms · Practical knowledge of adjudication procedures · Excellent team skills and the ability to share knowledge and information · Excellent communication and organisational skills.
