Float Secretary
Bristol
This position is for a float secretary who will cover all departments in the Bristol office of a leading law firm.
The successful candidate will be flexible as this role requires moving to sit within the department where cover is required on a weekly or even daily basis, this will mean desk sharing when moving from each department.
This is a full time vacancy. Hours of work are 9.15am to 5.15 pm with 1 hour for lunch. There are two other part-time float secretaries in the team.
The float secretary will cover all departments in Bristol to include:
Injury Risk
Clinical Risk
Commercial and Property Risk
Employment
Commercial Services
Insolvency
Corporate Finance
Professional Risks
Construction
Commercial Property
Cover will be for at least 2-3 fee earners at any one time.
Tasks will involve:
1. 70-80% audio typing (using digital dictation)
2. Document amendment
3. Filing
4. Opening new matters
5. Archving
6. Photocopying
7. General administration duties
An audio typing speed of 65 wpm + is needed, someone who is a team player and can adapt to different team and work types easily. Knowledge of the legal system and previous experience is preferred.
