Job Description

Roles - PROPERTY LAWYERS - SEPARATE LEGAL REPRESENTATION (SLR)

Location - Central Manchester

Salary - £30K - £35K

Job Purpose - own and manage the legal aspects of a conveyancing transaction acting for a lender - (including complex transactions) - and supervise the legal aspects of a conveyancing transaction acting for a lender undertaken by more junior casehandlers.


Should have mix of exp. of leasehold, new build, rural, shared ownership

  • Accountable for the due diligence, all dealings with other lawyers and other legal aspects on residential property transactions acting for the lender.
  • Supervise the legal aspects of a conveyancing transaction acting for a lender undertaken by SLR Casehandlers, providing day-to-day mentoring.
  • Assess risk on transactions and utilise skills to deliver pragmatic decision making and legal advice to the lender and business partners.
  • Responsible for the legal advice given on normal residential property transaction and supervise the advice provided by SLR Casehandlers.
  • Assess own development opportunities and create development plans to improve performance.

Direct Reports - None

Essential Criteria

  • High volume residential conveyancing case handling experience - 100 files/significant conveyancing experience
  • Experience of liasing directly with clients over the telephone.
  • Experience of working to targets / SLA's / KPI's.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing customer expectations & building relationships
  • Experience of liaising with internal and external customers and dealing with complaints.
  • Proven focus on delivering excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage, coach and develop people.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate focus on performance and quality.
