My client is a highly-regarded firm which has recently been undertaking an exciting period of expansion. The practice is looking to recruit a very capable residential conveyancing lawyer to undertake a key strategic role within its Cambridgeshire office. This will involve taking over the running of the team's day-to-day workings and then, through a combination of business development and reviewing and modernising the internal procedures, to increase turnover and profitability.
The firm enjoys an excellent reputation locally, working on behalf of a number of estate agents and referrers from the financial world as well as in collaboration with busy private client and matrimonial departments which ensures a flow of internal instructions, many of which fall into the High Value/High Net Worth bracket. You will therefore be happy and able to deal face-to-face with clients who pay for and expect a premium conveyancing service, as well as those who are seeking a more competitive pricing strategy.
The practice is also keen that the new recruit will be an active business developer who will be happy to approach local estate agents and other potential referrers to increase the flow of instructions coming into the department. You will also be able to employ an analytical and entrepreneurial approach, identifying areas of the working practices which can be improved upon or to implement new processes which will streamline and improve the present workings of the team.
This represents a superb opportunity for a senior level solicitor who is looking to undertake a challenging and rewarding position, and who is keen and hungry to take a department forward. Remuneration is competitive and is designed to attract the best talent available; an active following or impressive list of referrers/contacts is a definite plus, as is proven ability at building a conveyancing practice previously.
