Our client based in the West Midlands currently seeks to recruit an interim in-house lawyer to work in their established in-house team to cover a period of maternity leave. This is a broad ranging role reporting into the Head of Legal and would possibly suit a relatively junior lawyer wanting to move into an in-house position.
Predominantly focused on drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, the role will also require the successful candidate to provide more generalist legal advice including employment, IP, data protection and some litigation. You will work closely with other members of the legal team in the development of policies and processes to help the company meet its performance targets as well assisting with the management of external lawyers to deliver cost effective legal services.
The ideal person will probably be from NQ to 2 years PQE but we will consider more experienced candidates. You will ideally have some exposure to drafting and negotiating contracts coupled with a commercial mindset that will be as notable as your exceptional ability to engage with a business and provide pragmatic legal advice. You will also be an outstanding communicator, with the skills and gravitas to build effective relationships and gain credibility across the business.
