A large Local Authority in the Midlands currently requires a Commercial Contracts Locum Lawyer to join their already successful team to cover for an increase in workload.
The contract will be for initially 5-6 months, with the possibility of extension after this period, and interviews are scheduled for as soon as possible.
The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with previous experience reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, and providing advice to all levels of Local Authority staff.
Duties on a day to day basis will include:
-Handle a large caseload of both simple and complex commercial contracts matters
-Advising on all areas of procurement as and where required
-Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, and liaising with management
-Advising the Council on compliancy issues, and recommending changes
