Global business requires an experienced Commercial Lawyer with experience gained in practice and preferably in house. The role will be to lead a small team with overall responsibility for driving the business forward in the UK with a particular focus on Scotland and Ireland. You will contribute to the strategic and profitable growth of the department. The role will involve underwriting high net worth commercial legal indemnity risks, negotiating and maximising business profitability by means of effective and flexible underwriting decisions and techniques. You will have significant limits and authority on cases of technical complexity. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Lawyer who can demonstrate detailed knowledge of Scottish commercial and residential property law. You will have proven experience of handling acquisitions and disposals, landlord & tenant and development work, and the sale and acquisition of commercial sites for development purposes. You will be results orientated with a strong entrepreneurial flair, seeing business opportunities and taking positive action to transfer these into achievable goals. With excellent leadership, coaching and influencing skills, you are able to demonstrate continuous improvement capabilities plus creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems. Above all, to be successful in this role you need to show enthusiasm, drive and a strong desire to help grow the business. Travel is a requirement of the role. Salary dependent upon experience £60K-£65K + benefits.
