A large Local Authority in the Midlands currently requires a Commercial Contracts & Procurement Project Locum Lawyer to carry out a number of projects which the Local Authority require immediate assistance.
The contract will be for initially for 3 months, with the possibility of extension after this period.
The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with previous Contracts & Procurement experience within a Local Authority.
As this is a project role, applicants who would prefer to work remotely from home rather being based in the office are welcomed. The successful candidate will only be required to be present in the office for meetings (estimated to be once per fortnight).
Duties on a day to day basis will include:
- Dealing with the contracts/procurement matters for a number of major tenders
- Advising on all areas of procurement as and where required
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating tender documentation
- Reviewing existing contractual documentation, making recommendations and drafting new documentation in order to modernise current agreements for the Local Authority
- Advising the Council on compliancy issues, and recommending changes
