Global business requires a high quality, results-oriented Legal Counsel or Contract Specialist to join our in-house legal department. The candidate will work closely with professionals in the Sales Teams in the APAC region to review, negotiate, draft and process variety of contracts, including subscription, software licences, web based services, consulting agreements and non-disclosure agreements. In addition, the candidate will be expected to support the Legal department in Japan and other countries in the APAC region.
The candidate must have excellent communications skills, interact well with internal and external customers and have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced corporate environment.
The Legal department offers opportunities for the right candidate to gain exposure to many aspects of the business. Excellent opportunities for growth as the business is very diverse and rapidly increasing its international presence. Opportunities to work on broad range of matters, including ad-hoc projects.
Requirements:
Solid experience of drafting and negotiating wide range of commercial contracts is essential. Experience involving the information and web based services agreements, license agreements, consultancy/professional services agreements would be advantageous. Candidates with full or partial legal qualification with at least 3 years experience either in Japan or abroad will be considered. Must be fluent in English and Japanese. Prior in-house contract experience is essential.
Experience working cross divisionally in a mid to large size company useful. Experience working with internal and external customers and strong commercial acumen.
Excellent negotiating, drafting, analytical, written and oral communication skills. Ability to work alone and a part of team is critical. The candidate must be self motivated, and able to work with a minimum or no supervision. The candidate should have experience working closely with sales and other professionals at all levels and must be confident in support international sales people located in US, UK and other APAC countries. Candidate should be practical with a hands on approach and should ideally have an understanding of information and web services based business.
Salary £50,000 + benefits.
