The Technical Services Manager will be responsible for specifying and managing the outsourced planned and reactive building maintenance contract, to ensure the safety of our UK offices and compliance with all statutory requirements. This role will also be responsible for ensuring proactively that Eversheds? offices are as energy efficient as possible, and for specifying and managing the firm?s UK energy contract. You will also be responsible for the specification and delivery of the firm?s capital programme. You will be the key source of advice for the firm on all building and engineering matters. To develop and continuously review the firm?s building, engineering and energy services requirements; to monitor changes in legislation and ensure that Eversheds responds appropriately. To develop specifications for outsourced M&E services and lead the P&F input to the procurement process. To monitor the contractual performance of the supplier of M&E services, and to ensure that payments are made in accordance with the terms of the contract. To liaise with the operational team to ensure that Eversheds? requirements and supplier issues are addressed satisfactorily. To lead the development and implementation of energy saving initiatives, preparing business cases as required and contributing to the achievement of the firm?s carbon reduction commitments. To analyse, interpret and report on relevant management information in order to monitor costs and seek further savings. To identify areas for further development of the contract and develop and manage projects to deliver these, ensuring ongoing effective supplier relationships. To lead consideration of future benchmarking and /or re-specification and re-tendering exercises. To lead the preparation and delivery of the firm?s capital programme. project managing individual schemes in liaison with the Facilities Managers. The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent. You will have relevant technical qualification in a building or engineering discipline, and a poven record of successful management of £1 million+ outsourced contracts. You will have a proven track record of project managing capital projects. You will be financially aware, and will have experience of identifying and delivering cost savings in energy projects. You will have experience of data analysis and identification of trends and opportunities for change. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to successfully influence at all levels within the business, using tact and diplomacy where necessary. Strong numerical and critical reasoning skills are important. You will be driven and resourceful, with a creative approach to problem solving. You will be able to demonstrate a willingness to take ownership and work with a degree of autonomy. You will be effective in developing constructive relationships with suppliers.
