Frances Armstrong Associates LLP is currently seeking an experienced Commercial / IP Lawyer with a minimum 7+ years PQE on behalf of our well respected client based in Oxfordshire.
The Company is looking for an experienced leader to oversee the legal operations across Europe and will be reporting to the Financial Director of this international organisation. You will need to have proven yourself in an international business as a trusted advisor to business colleagues and be a good team player.
A solid history of working with detailed software contracts on a UK and European basis is essential.
Responsibilities:
* Overseeing all legal matters within the European region as well as acting as the legal representative on the organisations European Management Team.
* Appointing, supervising and managing outside counsel, and making legal judgments on high-value deals, litigation, product development and acquisitions.
* Ensuring consistency of approach whilst recognising local differences, and ensuring maintenance of legal and compliance training across the EMEA region
Requirements:
* Excellent academic record, with excellent written and oral English language skills.
* Qualified as a lawyer in UK.
* Experience of managing a legal team across a number of European countries.
* Extensive knowledge of European laws as they are applied to technology and e-commerce, as well as experience advising clients on and structuring complex, high-value, multi-jurisdictional commercial transactions.
* Experience of intellectual property, data privacy, content regulation and litigation, and the ability to command respect for both legal knowledge and business judgment.
* Willingness to travel, commitment to professionalism and commitment to customer service excellence.
* An additional European Language or Russian is highly desirable.
Salary: Negotiable depending upon experience + excellent benefits such as; car allowance, group pension, private medical insurance etc
Start date: ASAP
