Their Corporate, Technology & Media (CTM) Team is going from strength to strength and now have a vacancy for a dynamic mid-level lawyer to join the department.

The CTM Team is a commercially focused team that strives to know exactly where their clients are at, how they work and where theyre going. The aim is to take clients business personally.
They understand business realities and think commercially which results in practical, solutions-orientated and creative advice.
As part of this, the Technology and Media group has an enthusiasm to always get beneath, and understand clients technology, media offering or appropriate business sector.
Members of the group have many years in-house experience and therefore recognise and appreciate the services that clients are looking for and the pressures that the real world presents. This has resulted in the group being not only industry focused but also reflecting a high-level experience in a wide spectrum of technology sectors.
From a sector standpoint, clients include those engaged in publishing and media, life sciences, telecommunications equipment, laser and optoelectronics, networking systems, Internet infrastructure, semiconductor design and manufacture, and advanced software systems and applications products.
In a sentence, working on leading edge issues for businesses who are constantly requiring to reinvent their practices in response to changing opportunities in the media and science world is a core area of the groups practice.

Person/Experience required:
Not only will you be able to display a commitment and enthusiasm for the groups practice area, but you must also have a versatile, solutions-orientated and strategic approach to issues.
Given the experience required, it is anticipated that the ideal candidate will be a Solicitor/Associate with at least 4 years post qualification experience.
It is essential that you will have considerable experience, gained either in-house or at another law firm, in one or more of the following areas of law:
Intellectual Property
IT, Multimedia & Communications
General Commercial Contracts
Sectoral experience could include:
computer software and hardware
information & communications technology
publishing & media
biotechnology & life sciences
You will be familiar with and have considerable experience in one or more of:
Software licensing & support
Hardware terms & conditions
Technology transfer agreements
R&D collaborations
Outsourcing arrangements
Control of commercial information & know-how
Privacy & data protection issues
Website design, hosting and development contracts & electronic media implementation
Ecommerce & distance selling
Terms & conditions of supply, sale and purchase
General contract law & procedures
Skills Required
You will:
Possess excellent legal analysis, drafting, project management, and communication skills, both verbal and written
Be able to interact effectively with clients to prioritise their work in order to fulfill their commercial objectives
Be capable of assuming responsibility and able to work with minimal supervision in order to run entire projects
Display fresh thinking, creativity and commitment
Able to work not just independently but as an active and enthusiastic team member
