On Behalf of this multi-branched Law firm, Frances Armstrong Associates LLP is currently seeking a Corporate Finance Solicitor with 2-5 years UK experience in corporate finance work for the firm’s West Sussex branch.

This renowned law firm fields one of the largest corporate finance teams in the south east, which means they are able to offer a speedy response and present the most appropriate team whatever the situation. The department’s expertise covers mergers and acquisitions, MBOs and MBIs, public company and flotation work, business finance, tax planning and joint ventures. Whilst each of the firm’s clients’ are unique, the high levels of systems and processes the firm have developed combined with their experience ensures they can produce excellent results whilst maintaining a competitive cost base. The firm has a solid focus on developing relationships within the banking sector which pays high dividends, and as well as taking instructions from HSBC, Lloyds, HBoS, NatWest and Allied Irish, they are in an excellent position to make introductions and referrals to put together ‘deal teams’.

Our clients established team in West Sussex is looking to expand and is offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and focused solicitor to work with an established team where support and development is encouraged.

Role and Responsibilities

• Working on a range of transactions to include general mergers and acquisitions; advising banks on acquisition and structured finance as well as secured lending transactions; property acquisitions and corporate deals
• Acting for a wide range of clients such as companies, banks and other financial institutions as well as for private individuals
• Managing a large and varied caseload with a strong commercial approach
• Analysing and advising on the issues involved in transactions such as MBOs, restructuring, share and asset sales and purchases
• Playing an active role in building the business; participating in marketing initiatives and developing client relationships

Key Attributes and Experience requirements

• Ideally 2-5 years post qualification experience of corporate finance work.
• Client focus; the ability to build and sustain relationships
• Commercial awareness
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team not only in Corporate Finance but with internal teams across the business
• The desire to market your work and introduce business development initiatives where possible
• The ability to work well under pressure and manage a varied workload with the support of comprehensive accounting tools
• Solid IT skills with a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience of working a case management system would also be desirable
