Probably best described as a public sector organisation with a private sector mindset, we’re a leading international authority on the management of radioactive waste, with responsibility for a large portfolio of sites.
Our work is vitally important, challenging and has positive long term implications for the environment. It can also be hugely varied – you’ll find yourself working on completely different projects from week to week, sometimes even day to day. Your broad remit will be to provide advice with a particular focus on pensions, insurance, consultancy arrangements, environment, planning licences and other more general legal advice, including commercial litigation. You can expect to be working with high value contracts and to have accountability for commercial services of up to £500,000,000.
A qualified solicitor or barrister, you should have experience of in-house or private practice as a general practitioner, together with proven ability in the field of commercial contracts. Strong influencing and negotiating skills are a must.
