We are looking for an experienced Secretary with word processing and audio typing skills. The candidate will preferably have at least 2 years experience in a legal environment.
You will need to have the ability to develop strong relationships within the team, communicate concisely both verbally and in writing with internal and external clients, type quickly and accurately and plan and organise your own work. It is also required that the candidate can demonstrate flexibility and commitment, assisting other teams as and when necessary.
Your duties would involve:
• Providing secretarial assistance to lawyers;
• Accurately transcribing audio dictation and copy typing from draft documentation;
• Implementing and maintaining a comprehensive filing and record system under supervision;
• Closing files;
• Some financial administration;
• Attending appropriate departmental training sessions;
• Demonstrating a willingness to support other secretaries with workloads;
• Diary management;
• Arranging travel and accommodation;
• Dealing with incoming calls from clients and other lawyers, taking clear messages;
• Monitoring email inboxes;
• Arranging meeting rooms for client visits.
This position requires someone who is well presented, with a good telephone manner and the ability to work very well within a team. Excellent typing skills are essential. You must be able to work to tight deadlines and work to a high standard under pressure.
