Job Description

North West based UK Charity require a Senior Advocate. This is a home based position requiring travel within the North West therefore possession of a full driving licence and access to regular use of a motor vehicle is a pre-requisite for the role.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the position is wide ranging and includes working closely with the Director of Legal Services and managing a group of advocates including providing support and advice to them including actively partaking in meetings and training events as required. The successful applicant for this role will be responsible for the production of regular qualitative and quantitative reports as required and for carrying a caseload ensuring timely allocation and closure of all personal and advocates’ caseloads.

It is essential that the successful candidate for this role will be educated to degree standard or equivalent, have experience of leadership or a management /supervisory role and will have previous experience of Child Protection / Safeguarding Procedures coupled with substantial experience of face to face work with children and young people. Knowledge of the following are also essential for this role: Provisions of the Children Act 1989, the Children Act 2004 and the accompanying guidance and regulation; National Advocacy Standards; social work practice; principles of the anti-oppressive practice and equal opportunities; health and welfare and educational systems as they impact on children and young people.
