Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Legal Adviser to join the Supply Contracts Team of a Worldwide Banking Organisation on a Locum basis. The role will be based in South Yorkshire and will be a rolling contract for a minimum of 1 month.

You will be required to do the following:

• Provide legal advice, guidance and support to ensure that the Group's exposure to legal risk through its engagement with third parties for the contracting for goods and services is managed
• Deliver a professional contracts negotiation drafting and advice service in respect of contracts with third party suppliers of goods and services
• Ensure business and operational strategies and initiatives are facilitated in a timely manner

Principal accountabilities:

• Be considered a trusted adviser by providing commercially sensitive, pragmatic legal support and advice in a cost effective manner
• Provide training and development to members of the Supply Contracts Team and Procurement to improve understanding of contract risk/issues and strategies for reducing risk
• Ensure relevant parties are fully briefed on major issues that arise including any major changes to legislation
• Promote initiatives that result in the sharing of legal knowledge and best practices across the Supply Contracts Team and the Global Legal Function
