On behalf of this Legal 500 recognised, Multi-Branched Law Firm, Frances Armstrong Associates LLP is currently seeking an experienced Taxation Solicitor to be appointed the Head of the firms Tax, Trusts & Probate Dept.
Our clients well established Tax Trusts and Probate team has established a strong reputation as one of the leaders in the south east for providing high quality, approachable and accessible advice to mid-high net worth individuals and entrepreneurs. The firm has an exciting and aggressive private client strategy in place and now requires an experienced individual with drive, flair, creative thinking and commercial acumen together with the requisite technical skills in order to deliver its market leading plans
As well as dealing with your own base of clientele, this role will also involve overseeing the department which specialises in supplying a full and diverse range of tax planning for mid/high net worth individuals and commercial directors as well as owners of all sized businesses.
The ideal applicant will be a specialist in tax and trust planning and have significant proven experience of advising commercial clients.
Current Partners are encouraged to apply as this may fast track to an initial Partnership offering or an offering upon appraisal.
The Responsibilities of the Role and Responsibilities will include
* Tax planning- domestic and international:
* UK income, capital gains and inheritance tax Wealth management:
* Trust and wealth planning structures both onshore and offshore Estate planning:
* Wills, succession planning, disposal and post-sale planning Estate administration:
* Taxation of estates and beneficiaries Resolution of contentious trust matters Trustee powers and obligations
* Managing a large and varied caseload with a strong commercial approach.
* Strong marketing and business development skills together with a proven track record in developing long-term client relationships
* To play an active role in developing the team and its reputation, coaching, mentoring and sharing knowledge on best practice
Key Attributes and Experience requirements
* Qualified CTA, ACA, TEP with a tax bias or be qualified by experience
* Ideally 7yrs+ experience working as a trust and taxation specialist
* Previous experience of leading a private client or tax team would be preferred
* Commercial awareness
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* The ability to work as part of a team not only in the TTP Department but with internal teams across the business
* The desire to assist in marketing initiatives
* Solid IT skills with a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook Experience of working a case management system would also be desirable
