We are looking to appoint an Assistant Fees Manager to carry out the role of criminal billing and civil and criminal credit control. We are seeking a candidate with an excellent understanding of fees collection in a legal practice. The successful candidate will be well organised, hard-working, flexible, and committed to high quality service delivery. They will be highly numerate, and have strong negotiating and interpersonal skills.
You will be required to -
Processing magistrates' court work, criminal graduated fees and other criminal billing and appeals
Issuing invoices and reminder letters to clients
Dealing with queries about fees and errors over payment
Marking off legal aid and other payments to members
Requesting interim legal aid payments on behalf of members
Liaising with the Legal Services Commission and in particular collecting key information required for the efficient administration of fees.
Entering fees information from forms into the fees administration software used
Carrying out routine clerical tasks, including filing of fees information and correspondence and progress checking paperwork.
Meeting routine requests from members
Providing other administrative and clerical support as required to the fees function
