My client an international law firm, specialise in Energy, Financial Markets & Regulations, Real Estate and TMT. They are looking to recruit an experienced financial markets and regulation solicitor for their Financial Markets and Regulation group. This is part of my client's highly respected Banking department.
The successful candidate will be joining the wholesale and investment banking side of its practice. They are looking for candidates with at least four years' experience although they will consider all candidates with suitable skills and knowledge.
A solid grounding in wholesale financial services regulation is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in securities, derivatives, investment funds and fund management. The role requires advisory, project management and transactional skills and you must be willing to get involved in transactions with heavy regulatory content. You will also h
ave the opportunity to get involved in derivatives and structured derivatives transactional work. The Financial Markets and Regulation group (within which the wholesale regulation team operates) currently has 11 fee-earners including four partners. It spans the full range of regulated financial business and related areas including securities, commodities, derivatives, futures and options, investment funds, exchanges and clearing houses work.
You would take day-to-day responsibility for a variety of regulatory projects. You would have a key role in training, supervising and mentoring junior fee-earners within the group who would work closely with you under the overall supervision of the partners. You will be joining a busy and successful group, with a dedicated PSL and paralegal and a specialised training programme.
