NQ-4yrs / In-House Solicitor / Southampton / Financial Services Our client is an international financial services company, it is part of a group offering asset management, life assurance, banking and general insurance services in over 40 countries, primarily South Africa, Europe and the United States. They currently have an exciting job vacancy for a commercial solicitor to join their current team of 6 based in Southampton. The ideal candidate will have good quality commercial experience across, commercial contracts, outsourcing, agency agreements etc. Evidence of sound judgment and business acumen are essential for this position as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The role will involve assisting both the heads of legal for UK and International on a wide range of matters. - Provide legal advice and support to internal customers as required. - Report effectively on legal issues and risk exposure and recommend escalation actions as appropriate. - Ensure relevant legal documentation is appropriately controlled in accordance with a legal risk policy and governance framework. - Manage external lawyers (on service and costs) where necessary. - Advise the business if there are customer fairness issues to be addressed, for example, unfair and unclear customer communications or when advising in relation to a customer dispute. A preference would be given for those candidates with in-house and financial services experience but these are not essential if you can demonstrate other core competencies.
