BANKING KNOW-HOW PSL - LONDON CITY

Leading international legal practice seeks Banking Know-How Professional Support Lawyer. This position forms part of the wider Banking know-how team, but the Know-how Lawyer will be directed principally by the partners in the International Securities Group as regards his/her day-to-day work and priorities.

Main duties
1 To produce and update precedents and practice notes (which includes spearheading the review of legal developments)
2 To understand the know-how needs of clients and to produce know-how materials for clients as appropriate
3 To provide training (external and internal)
4 To answer queries.

Responsibilities:
Monitoring legal and other developments and in respect of such developments:
· To brief and train fee earners through know-how meetings and otherwise;
· To evaluate their impact and take action as required, eg write briefing notes, guidance notes, checklists and practice notes;
· To ensure that any necessary changes are made to precedents, practice notes, briefing notes and training materials as appropriate;
· To identify areas which present a marketing opportunity and propose appropriate marketing activities such as writing clients briefings, preparing and delivering client training.

Ensuring that know-how generated from client work is entered in the know-how system
Providing guidance and, where appropriate, undertaking complex research in response to enquiries from fee earners.
Writing articles for publication, conference papers and training materials, as required.
Explaining the know-how services available to new joiners to the team

Person Specification:
Currently an experienced fee earner at a top ten City firm, involved in mainstream Capital Markets transactions.
Excellent drafting skills, flexibility and the ability to think laterally.
Willingness to learn new information technology and apply it to improve working practices.
Good interpersonal skills and good project management skills.
A self starter with the ability and confidence to work with the little supervision to an agenda agreed with the International Securities Group partners, the Head of Know-how and the Know-how partner.
Well motivated with plenty of enthusiasm, with the ability to motivate others including Partners and senior fee earners, to encourage their contributions to agreed projects.
A team player, working as an integral part of the larger Banking know-how team and providing a positive contribution to the services provided by that team

The position is expected to be full-time, but flexible working hours/arrangements would be considered for the right candidate
