Our client is looking for a Shipping Lawyer to join a small, growing team. Candidates with a Shipping/Oil background are sought and ideally candidates at newly qualified to one year PQE (or equivalent) should apply.
The client would like to see candidates with at least 6 months or one seat in Shipping on their Training Contract. Ideally candidates with good experience of drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts (including charterparty, supplier, drilling agreements).
The role will involve a large amount of corporate governance so candidates would need to be highly organised and point to experience in this area. In addition expereince of ship arrest, shipping arbitration etc would be be required.
Candidates who can combine this shipping experience witth seats in corporate, tax and employment plus dealt with sanctions and anti-bribery would be highly useful. The company deals heavily with clients in the far east so candidates who it is essential you are comfortable communicating with people from other cultures. The role will involve travel so would suit a personal who is flexible in this regard.
