That's how we've become one of the largest law firms in the world and a great place to work and develop your career. The Financial Services team has a market leading practice advising clients on all areas regulated by the Financial Services Authority in the UK and also in relation to their cross border activities. Due to increasing demand, our Financial Services team is growing and we are looking for a bright solicitor to join our team and develop the regulatory practice. You will be working with a range of clients including asset managers, private wealth managers, private banks, distributors, insurance companies, hedge funds and private equity companies. You will advise your clients on any regulatory issues arising from the UK regulatory environment and also on EU initiatives and the impact on UK companies of regulation in other parts of the world. There will be particular focus on the latest industry developments, including MiFID II, UCITS IV, AIFMD and RDR. Direct client contact is a key in this role and you will be dealing with the legal, compliance and business functions within organisations, and have the opportunity to contribute to industry debate. In this role you will provide advise on a wide range issues including: issues for clients arising from the FSA Handbook (in particular SYSC, COBS, UPRU, IPRU, SUP, DISP, COMP and COLL), and how regulatory change impacts their internal processes, management structures, and product development. regulatory issues arising from contractual arrangements entered into by clients, such as investment management agreements, custody arrangements and prime brokerage agreements. financial promotion and distribution arrangements. all aspects of regulatory compliance for funds, including unfair contract terms and EU and US developments. the regulatory aspects of any corporate transactions (change of control, variation of permissions, approved persons etc). You will have proven knowledge and a good grounding in regulation and other relevant law. You will also demonstrate strong analytical skills, and you are experienced and confident in communicating effectively with different levels and functions within an organisation. You must have an outstanding attention to detail and it is essential you are up to speed with current developments in this area. Your client management relationships will be excellent. You have a strong interest in regulation and keeping up to date with changes. You work to get a full understanding of the client?s needs and its business drivers from the outset. You build a rapport with clients by questioning and exploring their view. You demonstrate commercial awareness when providing technical advice. You have a track-record of actively seeking to build links with other parts of the business and deliver results. In addition to the above, Eversheds also require consciousness and full participation in the Firm?s commitment to equality and diversity, the environment and health and safety.
