SUPER SHIP FINANCE
LAWYER / SOLICITOR
LONDON - CITY
Legal Works is delighted to be recruiting a junior ship finance lawyer for this fast growing international law firm with a strong global presence with an impressive list of domestic and international clients.
the team
· Advises banks, export credit agencies, ship-owners, operators, shipbuilders, private equity funds and other investors on a wide range of shipping and offshore related transactions, including financing, construction contracts, charterparties, sale and purchase, ship registration, joint ventures, loan restructurings, work-outs and enforcement.
the role
· You will have a first class contact and direct dealings with clients.
· Your responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating documents as well as general transaction management.
· Much of the work is cross-border and you will be required to liaise with overseas lawyers.
· International travel may be required.
· You will also be encouraged to become involved actively in marketing and business development.
you
· You will have done at least one seat in banking and finance as part of your training contract, from within a strong commercial practice.
· Experience of working in ship finance is preferred, but not required.
· You will be enthusiastic, enjoy working under pressure and will be able to maintain a sense of humour in a fast paced environment.
· You will relish client contact, and will be expected to play a full role in practice development.
· You will have some experience of drafting loan documentation and will relish the prospect of honing your skills further.
· Fluency in one or more languages other than English would be beneficial but is not essential.
