Unit

Our Agricultural Litigation unit forms part of Burges Salmon's top ranked Food Farming & Land sector, which has an unrivalled reputation for the quality of its lawyers and clients. Lawyers in the unit work closely with non-contentious colleagues throughout the firm and are also active in using their skills within the firm's broader Dispute Resolution department.

Work

The team boasts considerable experience and expertise in all forms of dispute resolution Court litigation, mediation, arbitration and other forms of alternative disputes. The successful applicant can expect to be involved in:

· All aspects of agricultural landlord and tenant advice
· Real property issues relating to the ownership of property and rights over property
· Commercial disputes arising from the Food Farming & Land sector
· Insolvency related issues
· Subsidy issues
· Trust-related disputes

Clients

We work for the leading institutions, banks, businesses, estates and individuals in this sector.

Requirements

We are looking for excellent academics coupled with evidence of good quality training and experience. Willingness to learn and self motivation are a pre-requisite. Familiarity with some agricultural law would be desirable and it is likely that the successful candidate will have at least had some experience of dealing with Chancery disputes involving property. This is a specialist area to which the firm is committed and so the qualities of the candidate are more important than particular experience and the long term development of our lawyers within the sector is something in which the firm invests significant effort.
