On behalf of this Top legal 50 law Firm, Frances Armstrong Associates LLP is currently seeking a Professional Support Lawyer to join the Employment Team within the firms the Litigation department
This well known client is a leading London city law firm with a strong reputation for quality and innovation. The firm is based over several locations and is now looking to built upon a reputation for providing first class advice to many leading names within the Technology, Media, Telecoms and Real estate sectors.
Due to the on-going growth of the firm, we are currently seeking a part-time Professional Support Lawyer to support the Employment Teams at 2 locations. The successful applicant will join the firm's Employment Team which covers a full range of employment work for a mixture of firm's clients'. Reporting to Partner level members of the firm, the role involves working with a small team of employment PSLs and a wider team of PSLs across the firm.
The work is a mixture of Corporate Support, High Court Litigation, tribunal work, policy
and strategic planning, drafting and provision of day-to-day advice. As the firm has separate Employee Benefits and Pensions Teams, the successful applicant will be dealing only with 'pure' employment law.
This role would suit a solicitor who is currently fee-earning and who would like to switch to a PSL position or an existing Professional Support Lawyer. Working out of the London office, we anticipate that this role will be three days a week, Wednesday to Friday would be preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assisting with monitoring legal developments in employment law and assisting with
preparing internal updates
* Assisting with setting the training programme for the Employment Team and some
delivery of training to fee-earners
* Helping co-ordinate the collection of materials generated by feeearners to promote and develop knowledge sharing within the firm
* Assisting with business development, such as helping to prepare client alerts, articles
for publication and material for the client Employment extranet
* Helping to keep the internal intranet databases up to date
* Involvement in firm-wide issues, involving professional support and possibly regulatory
matters.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
* Qualified solicitor with at least 3 years' PQE in employment work.
* Solid experience at law firm with a leading employment practice.
* Excellent academic record.
* Excellent practical drafting skills.
* Good level of IT and Internet literacy.
* Driven, enthusiastic and flexible team player.
