EXPERIENCED COMMERCIAL LITIGATION / ARBITRATION LAWYER

Legal Works are delighted to be working for this leading US practice currently recruiting an experienced commercial litigation / arbitration lawyer to join a friendly and hugely successful team.

Building on the reputation of its leading litigation and arbitration practice in the U.S., this firm has established a top TEAM in Europe. The European litigation and arbitration practice has its HQ in the London office and works closely with experts in offices around the world.

The TEAM specialises in complex, cross-border disputes. The lawyers are experienced in cases involving different systems of law & are expert in private & public international law. Contentious work conducted by the TEAM in London have concerned disputes under French, English, Finnish, Swedish, German, Italian, New York, Delaware, Californian, Philippine, Georgian, Russian and Israeli laws, among others.

The scope of the practice is broad. Acting for sovereign states, banks, multinational companies & major institutions in the commercial, telecommunications, engineering, energy & financial services fields.

The TEAM undertakes multi-jurisdictional litigation & international arbitrations. They have both a commercial arbitration practice involving cases conducted under the auspices of the major international arbitral institutions (including cases under the rules of the ICC, LCIA, ZCC) as well as a public law arbitration practice involving arbitrations brought under bilateral and multi-lateral investment treaties (including cases under ICSID and UNCITRAL rules).

The litigation practice focuses on complex multi-jurisdictional disputes, including cases with proceedings in the BVI, Bahamas, and Cyprus as well as the High Court of England and Wales.

You

To be successful you will:-
· Be at least 5/6PQE+.
· Have gained experience at a top City/US law firm or niche practice within the sector.
· Be comfortable dealing with a broad range of quality, complex, large and cutting edge litigation matters.
· Have experience and exposure to ADR / mediation and arbitration;
· Be able to operate easily in a team driven environment, communicating with other team members, support staff, as well as liaising direct with clients.
· Have experience of and be prepared to get involved with a number of business development and marketing initiatives on behalf of the Group.
