About Eversheds Sutherland:
Eversheds Sutherland’s Tax practices handle complex and challenging legal matters for businesses throughout the world’s major economies. We pride ourselves on offering customised solutions to support our clients. Our lawyers will chart a way through the maze of national and sub-national tax legislation and provide clients with integrated tax advice for today’s multi-jurisdictional trading environment.
We provide counsel to many of the world’s most prominent corporations – around 40 of the Fortune 100 and 50-plus from the FTSE 100. We have more than 150 tax attorneys in 20 countries, representing taxpayers in the U.S, Europe, Africa, south-east Asia and additional jurisdictions across the globe. In locations where we do not have our own offices, we work with established networks to give high-quality tax advice wherever our clients need it.
Eversheds Sutherland’s Global Co-Head of Tax, David Jervis, is based in Leeds and therefore the Leeds office is an important part of the firm’s global Tax offering. The team prides itself on being friendly and supportive and on its ability to support its lawyers’ aspirations to carve particular niches within Tax law. The Tax team is very highly regarded and is enjoying year-on-year success; as a result, this is an exciting time to join.
We currently have opportunities for qualified Tax lawyers to join the Tax team in Leeds. We would welcome applications from those with a minimum of around 2 years’ PQE up to those with a number of years’ PQE.
As an integral part of our Tax team you will provide support on a wide variety of transactions, focusing on various client sectors, such as retail, transport and industrial engineering. You will also be encouraged to get involved in marketing activities.
Skills and experience:
You will possess strong technical skills and excellent academic qualifications. You will show a creative approach to problem solving. In addition you will be able to demonstrate exceptional organisation skills as well as a high attention to detail. You will provide a first-rate client service both internally and externally. Ideally you will have at least two years’ PQE, although we would welcome applications from those who feel they have suitable skills.
You should be a team player, client focused and a good communicator with a strong practical approach to your workload. A commitment to delivering quality service is essential, as is the ability to juggle the demands of a heavy workload.
At Eversheds Sutherland, we believe that innovation comes from a culture of genuine equality and diversity and we are happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments individuals may require in the recruitment process, or once in post. We are an LGBT inclusive employer and are Stonewall Corporate Champions.
