The role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to join our Dispute Resolution Team. The role will be based in the Bath office, however may require occasional travel to any of our other locations or off site as client demands require.

The work involves acting for companies as well as for individuals. There is a complete spectrum of Commercial and Civil Litigation work. Areas where the candidate is likely to work include:-

  • Legacy/ Disputes Contentious Probate Contract Disputes
  • Professional Negligence
  • Breach of trust claims
  • Property disputes/Construction disputes
  • Defamation
  • Shareholder and partnership disputes
  • Commercial Landlord and Tenant disputes including rent arrears, forfeiture, possession, dilapidations claims, business tenancy renewals
  • Charity and Educational institution related disputes

Experience/Qualifications Required

The candidate will be expected to undertake all of the areas of work mentioned above. The candidate will have three to five years' experience of commercial/civil litigation experience. Experience of contentious probate and charity disputes would be a distinct advantage.

Additional Requirements

The ideal candidate would have the potential and desire to market the firm and be aware of opportunities to cross sell other specialisations within the firm. They would be expected to assist others within the Dispute Resolution Team in terms of presenting seminars (which the firm does regularly to clients and referrers) and presentations to prospective clients.

Our environment is positive and supportive but often highly pressurised due to external deadlines and volume of work. We need someone that is pro-active and able to manage potential pressure.

The candidate should be well-organised, technologically proficient and capable of working on their own or within a team. They will also be required where necessary to provide supervision to more junior members of the team.

Reporting line

The post-holder will report to the Head of Dispute Resolution.

Working hours – 9.00am - 5.30pm.
