The word ‘opportunity’ is banded about in job adverts with surprising frequency, but the opportunity which this role offers truly is exciting to any ambitious conveyancer looking to really ‘make their mark’.


My client is a well-established Legal 500 practice with an exceptional reputation across a variety of disciplines. Although by no means falling behind in this area, the firm recognises that its conveyancing operation, which already posts a substantial turnover, could be improved through the recruitment of a driven and experienced conveyancing lawyer who not only knows the process but who also knows the market.


The team is already fed work through established local relationships with estate agents and also internally from the impressive private client and matrimonial offerings, but it is recognised that with a client-facing and commercially-minded conveyancer in place there is real scope for this department to be driven forward into the region’s premier residential property practice.


You will be a highly capable lawyer who is able to deal with a full range of conveyancing transactions including freeholds, leaseholds and transfers of equity, ideally with some experience of dealing with high value properties, as well as having prior experience of other matters such as shared ownership and plot purchases as you supervise other members of the team with their own caseloads. You should also have a proven ability to market and generate new business, as well as the commercial nous to differentiate between what is profitable and makes good business sense, versus what is simply turnover.
