To provide residential conveyancing support to their busy property department.
You would be working in their property department managing your own caseload utilising your residential conveyancing experience across a range of transactions, but with particular emphasis on transactions for housing association clients.
To be referred to in conjunction with the generic job description and your personal development plan, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Providing advice on time and to a high standard of technical competence in a broad range of residential property matters
Running with their own caseload
Working with other team members as circumstances require - either alongside senior colleagues on complex transactions or supervising/assisting less experienced colleagues
Alongside the rest of the team and with the support of the marketing department, developing new business through the growth of existing clients of the firm and winning new clients through occasional marketing (including contributing to pitch and tender documents)
Achieving budgeted hours and fees for the year as a minimum Supporting the team in delivering the core principles of investors in clients to deliver exceptional client service
Good legal drafting skills: able to provide clear, concise and commercially relevant solutions, explaining/advising succinctly on difficult and complex areas whilst winning their confidence and being aware of potential conflicts
Residential conveyancing experience and record of managing own caseload is essential
Experience of social housing is essential Keen to maintain personal development and take advantage of training opportunities; keeping up to date with legal issues, law reports and journals together with legal developments and government policy within relevant sectors
Good IT and keyboard skills, at ease with digital dictation, electronic time recording and document management systems
An effective communicator and negotiator able to establish and maintain harmonious and professional relationships with clients and colleagues
As part of the property team, you would be expected to have the following skills and experience:
A team player with high levels of personal commitment and initiative, recording time promptly to meet financial goals with a good track record in achieving targets i.e. expected to achieve over six hours chargeable time each day.
Flexible, ambitious, focused, results oriented with a track record of having taken responsibility for developing business
Good organisational skills and experience of project management and delivering process efficiencies. Attention to detail tempered by a commercial approach, managing own time effectively whilst contributing to a positive team spirit
Willing to spend time if required in the firm's other offices
