An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Research Contracts Lawyer to join a prominent redbrick institution based in East Midlands.

The position will be for 3 : 6 months; however there is scope for it to continue dependent on the workload and needs of the organisation. The position can offer some level of flexibility in regard to homeworking.

The successful candidate will be required to provide commercial legal advice on a daily basis, this will include:

* Negotiating complex research contracts and agreements for all the University departments
* Protecting the University's access to the results of research for further use or commercialisation
* Reducing legal liability
* Seeking optimal payment terms and academic publication rights
* Overseeing the negotiation of externally funded research agreements

The position offers a rate of £35-40 per hour dependant on experience.

The position would be suited to a qualified lawyer who holds experience in academia, industry or private practice. A current practicing certificate is required.
