Our client, a leading regional law firm, has instructed us in relation to an excellent opportunity for a Private Client Associate to join their team in Nottingham. This role as Private Client Associate provides the successful applicant with the opportunity to join a very successful regional law firm who posses an interesting and varied client base.

About the role

This team in Nottingham is comprised of two Partners, one Solicitor, one Legal Executive and a Paralegal. As such, they are looking for an experienced Associate to join the team with a view to progression to Partnership.

Typical matters that the Private Client team deal with include providing inheritance tax planning advice, preparing wills, establishing trusts and advising trustees, court of protection matters and administering estates with business and agricultural property. This role involves working with a variety of clients including high net worth individuals and commercial clients with tax planning needs.

The Private Client Associate will need to ensure an active involvement in marketing and business development to ensure the continued growth and development of the team, and the firm's other legal services.

About the person

The Private Client Associate must be a UK qualified solicitor with a minimum of 8 years experience in Private Client, with a particular interest in tax, estate planning and court of protection matters. Candidates with less experience will be considered should they feel that they have the necessary experience to fulfil the criteria of the role. Candidates who have completed or are working towards a STEP or TEP qualification are preferred.

The successful applicant will have a strong academic background along with excellent organisational and time-management skills, experience of supervision and mentoring juniors along with the ability to build a rapport with both colleagues, clients and introducers of work.
