An experienced litigation paralegal is sought to work for this leading law firm in their Plymouth office.

The role is within the disputes team where you will negotiate payment arrangements and initiate legal proceedings to recover unpaid business debt and enforcing judgements and will deal with written correspondence on a daily basis.

You will :

  • Administer and progress existing legal account portfolio including contested or defended cases;
  • Provide support on a wide variety of transactions including :
  • Claims for recoveries, drafting Pleadings and Witness Statements and instigating and monitoring enforcement actions.
  • Research the law and collate evidence for issues;
  • Validate Lender appointments of fixed charges receivers and advise on their powers and duties;
  • Work closely with other departments to obtain evidence and data;
  • Brief Counsel, attend Conferences and assist in drafting and amending legal pleading and witness statements;
  • Support others in the team with specific business development and marketing;

Skills and Attributes:

  • Proven knowledge and experience of litigation and dispute resolution work including claims for unpaid business debt, making recoveries, injunctions, enforcement actions and breach of contract.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness and business aptitude in decision making for debtors on a day to day basis;
  • Experience of some business development and marketing;
  • A highly flexible approach and capability to work well and flourish in a team;
  • Excellent all round communication and ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships;
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with colleages;
  • Commitment to working in a quality standard environment;
  • Experience of delivering to targets and objectives;
  • Previous experience of working with a CRM system.
