It gives our private clients access to the law through friendly, approachable people who know that understanding individual need is the first step to making the law work.
Our Clinical Negligence team advises private clients on complaints and claims involving any type of medical negligence.
We have a vacancy for a Paralegal to run a busy caseload of Medical Negligence claims. You will be supervised by a Senior Solicitor but expected to run your own caseload on a day-to-day basis.
Skills and qualifications
Applicants will ideally have their LPC or CILEx and relevant medical negligence litigation experience.
The successful candidate’s tasks when running their caseload will include:
* Providing a comprehensive case progression service including managing litigation timetables, deadlines, medical reports, appointments etc;
* Evidence gathering to include medical reports, statements, other documentary evidence and experts’ reports;
* Ensuring that all work and the collected evidence is properly marshalled and recorded on the files;
* Taking witness statements as required;
* Researching and preparation of legal papers;
* Providing excellent client care.
A good telephone manner and the ability to work in a team environment is essential. You should have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines with good attention to detail. Good IT skills are also essential.
